It’s such a struggle to be positive all the time, especially as the whole World seems to be in “lockdown”. EFT brings relief from anxiety and stress.
Having a good attitude. Looking on the bright side. Life’s hard enough as it is and when that becomes apparent, sometimes it is good to really just express yourself.
Emotions build up. Or should I say, energies build up. And up. It is just like a rising pressure – hardly noticeable at first, then more and more. The pressure grows, the energy becomes denser and tighter. And then comes the point where the energy body needs to remove this pressure or else it will seriously start to hurt, seriously start to unbalance the body and mind – and that’s why and when people explode with rage, or the tears begin to flow.
Of course, the reason for this is a blockage in their energy system, an obstacle in the flow that causes normal energy flow to clog up and create this pressure scenario. When you remove the blockages, the energy rushes through, and out, and phew – what a relief! That’s when people say, “Oh that’s so strange, that feeling is gone – I feel fine now!”
The classic EFT effect, if you will.
But how about our constant – whining and wingeing?
Whining is an activity whereby we express backed up emotions just as much as we do with any panic attack or a temper tantrum – It’s just at the lower end of the scale.
Here, we are not talking about blockages in the “life-and-death” systems of the energy body, but more like an annoying, nagging pain or a thorn in your foot.
Even so, when the pressure gets too bad something has to be done and then we start to whine – about the government, about our children, our spouses, our finances, the weather, the lockdown, anything really to release the pressure for a few minutes.
Interestingly, if people allowed themselves to whine more frequently to their partners, their colleagues and to strangers in the street, they might be more healthy in the long term. But our 21st century “First World” civilisation with our “stiff upper lips” looks down upon those who constantly whine, accusing them of being miserable sods! They are frequently shunned at parties and overlooked for promotions.
We soon learn that whining is NOT the way to make friends and influence people (other than to make them walk away quickly from us) and guess what?
What happens to the unexpressed pressure build up which could have been easily released with a jolly good, “I’m so fed up! It’s not fair! Whaaaaa…”?
Emotions come out sooner or later!
Well of course, it will have to be expressed somehow – in other and possibly more damaging ways. In addictions and overeating, in repetitive behaviours, exercise, compulsive working or cleaning, and of course, there are many substances that can come to our aid, producing a state shift and making us move somewhere else for a time where we can be blissfully unaware of that pressure down there …
So, I have decided that whining is indeed, healthy and should be seriously dealt with on a regular basis as a mental and physical health measure.
We can use EFT as we whine to actually unblock the energy flow which causes the whining to happen in the first place and thereby not only drain the metaphorical puss out of the boil but actually heal what caused it in the first place – so, more whining will lead to less, and less. Eventually we will be really able to display that “good attitude” of fortitude, strength and courage we have pretended to have had for so long.
And without any further ado, here it is:
The EFT Whining Protocol
- When the time is right, sit down with an EFT protocol to hand. (See our Exploring EFT eBook below for info).
- Think about something that is really annoying you about your life. In lockdown, you don’t have to think too long!!
Please note we are not talking about any major past issues of abuse or trauma, but something you could really whine about for a while. Pick your topic, take a deep breath and start whining away to yourself. Yes – Seriously!
Example. “Ok, the wife is really getting on my nerves. Hogging the TV all day, can’t get her off the couch! Wasting all her time on those Instagram influencers. And that’s not all! The other day, she actually etc blaah blaah blaah…”
- As you whine, you begin to tap. You may tap randomly or intuitively, or simply tap the whole round, round and round, all through the whine. When you have got to the Karate Chop point, you can start again with the top of the eyebrow.
Please note: The tapping tends to get faster and faster as you get into the whine. That’s alright and is quite a normal response to this!
- Continue until you:
a) run out of things to tap on;
b) feel lots better;
c) start laughing;
d) have somehow forgotten what on Earth you were tapping on.
To sum up:
Whining is a natural human activity that simply denotes the need for energy release. It is healthy and prevents the need for escalation into substance abuse, road-rage, panic attacks, and psychosomatic illness.
However, when whining is paired with the release and un-blocking effects of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), mind-body health can be served in a profound way.
